Hello and welcome!

I have long had a passion for studying old images of the town.  Nobody else seems to have posted a website to show others these  images so here is history-of-ashford!

I  hope you enjoy the images. I have tried to provide a few different  means of getting at the information. While not being an expert  by any means on the history of the town, I would refer you to  books published by Mr Arthur Ruderman and Mr Richard Filmer.  Please see Further Reading for more information.

Please do leave your comments in my Guestbook, chat in the forum or why not buy a print?

Perhaps you can help me with some images I can not place?

I  hope you enjoy your visit!

Chris  Crook.

Getting  Started

Click  the link for 'A-Z  of Roads' or 'Clickable  Maps'.

Look for  the symbol shown right. Point to this arrow and a NOW image will swap for  the old image!
Hint:  Keep moving the mouse on and off the arrow to see the diferences  more clearly. You do not need to 'click' on the arrow, just point.

Good luck Jack.

  • Forum problems

Sorry to all who were using the forum. Like my original guestbook, the forum was a victim of the air headed spammers of this world.

I am currently writing my own forum and hope to unveil it in the next few months. Being home-grown, it will be easier to protect and look after. I will import all existing messages and usernames and let you know by email.

My apologies again, Chris.
